- Welcome to life's greatest adventure -
Want to dive right in? Read the 5 EASY STEPS below then try the six-minute guided meditation. You don't need to sit in a classic yoga posture. You can sit in a comfortable chair, even an easy chair, although your back should be straight.
Use the acronym R•E•L•A•X
R - Relax - Just say to yourself, “I relax the body.” or “I enjoy relaxing the body,” The body will obey.
E - The Electrical body. Be aware of a tingling sensation throughout the body. This is usually first felt in the face and hands.
L - Listen to the different sounds internally. If you just hear one sound, then listen to its highs and lows and how it subtly changes. Follow it.
A - Awareness, or the All-seeing eye - What do you see with eyes closed? What do you see when looking at the sound? Watch the meditator.
X - The Unknown - The unknown is unknowable because we are it. Here is a great approach though, ask yourself: “What is it that sees"? Reach back and back and rest in that.
Repeat these steps several times; usually three times is enough. Go through them quite quickly and repeat them until you feel abstracted or quiet. These steps can be done quite mechanically.
After finishing the three rounds you can go to any one of the steps that you are drawn to and explore it in depth. However always finish by going to step X. The time you spend resting in the I Am is the most valuable. Going quickly through the three steps is important because it helps you get into sync with the speed of the wandering, thinking, unbridled mind.
Details of each step are given in my book MEDITATION THAT WORKS which is available on Amazon. (This link is universal and will take you to the Amazon store that serves your country.)
